Marion's most impressive pitcher from 2009 will toe the rubber again this year for the Bobcats.
Justin O'Brien, a 6-5, 180 pound righty at Arkansas State, posted Marion's lowest ERA last year, giving up only 1.92 runs per nine innings. The hard-throwing 19-year-old accumulated 83 strikeouts in only 51.2 innings for the Bobcats. Penalized by some poor defense behind him, O'Brien managed only a 2-4 record. However, one-third of the runs scored off O'Brien in last year's season were unearned. He gave up only seven extra-base hits after facing 221 batters.
O'Brien also posted one save last year.
