Thomas to rejoin Bobcats

Logan Thomas, a right-handed pitcher out of Texas who spent the entire 2008 season with the Bobcats, is set to return to the club.

General Manager Gordon Guess said on Friday the 20-year-old has been out of the country and will join the club in the coming days. The move likely will force Manager Steve Fowler to move a current member of the team to the reserve list in order to make room for Thomas on the 24-man roster.
Thomas, known at "Tex" to teammates, was 3-2 with a 5.46 ERA for the Bobcats last year. In 31 1/3 innings of work, he gave up 28 hits, walked 28 and struck out 19. He also lead the team with hit batters at seven.
Though Thomas struggled with his control at times last season, he started the season 3-0 before arm troubles affected his pitching, causing him to end the season on the disabled listed.
