Bobcats looking for player hosts

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! I hope I'll be safe at home!
   – George Carlin

In comedian George Carlin's classic stand-up routine comparing baseball with football, he mused that in America's pastime, the object is to get home... and be safe.
That's what Marion Bobcat shareholder and General Manager Gordon Guess is seeking for the 24 players who will make up the team's 2009 roster. A home. A safe home.
Guess has begun to round out housing assignments for players from across the country for the collegiate summer league team and is still in need of hosts willing to take a few players. Many of the volunteer hosts from last year's inaugural season have signed on again, but a few bases are yet to be covered.
Players will be in their late teens or early 20s, looking to make a name for themselves on the diamond. They will be with the team from late May to early August, when the KIT League postseason ends.
If anyone is interested in providing a home – a safe home – for any of the 24 players, they can contact Guess' cell phone at  704-0953 or home line at 965-2750.
All hosts will receive recognition in the 2009 season program.
